We are proud to introduce a major enhancement to our FLS980Dxi Flying Probe test system: the integration of automated oscilloscope probing through our newly designed flying oscilloscope probe module. This advancement allows for precise and efficient testing of complex printed circuit board assemblies, drastically reducing test time. The new oscilloscope probe module offers several advanced features:

  • High Bandwidth: Achieve accurate signal acquisition with high bandwidth capabilities.
  • Wide Dynamic Range: Support a variety of signal types with a wide input dynamic range.
  • Compact Design: Ideal for probing small geometry circuit elements, ensuring precise measurements even in densely packed PCBs.
  • Multiple Simultaneous Measurements: Connect up to 8 single-ended probes simultaneously, increasing efficiency and throughput.
  • Precision Probing: Capable of probing within 1mm between multiple probes.
  • Component Testing: Able to test components as small as 01005.

The Acculogic FLS980Dxi is highly customizable, allowing it to adapt to specific testing requirements. Built with a modular architecture for flexible probe arrangements users can configure probes for unique board layouts or to accommodate densely packed components. These modules can be added to tailor the system to specific testing requirements, enhancing both functionality and test coverage.

Using an oscilloscope in a flying probe test system can significantly enhance the accuracy and depth of testing for electronic components and assemblies with:

Reduce Test Time: By eliminating the need for manual probing and soldering of leads and wires to boards, the new oscilloscope probe module drastically reduces the time required for testing.

Precise Signal Capture: Oscilloscopes provide detailed insights into the signal integrity and behavior of circuits by capturing waveforms and measuring parameters like voltage, frequency, and timing characteristics. This is crucial in flying probe testing, especially when verifying dynamic performance in real-world operating conditions.

Advanced Fault Detection: Oscilloscopes can detect issues that basic continuity or static tests may miss, such as intermittent faults, noise, signal distortion, and unexpected transients. For high-speed or analog circuits, these insights are essential for ensuring quality and performance.

Parametric Testing: Oscilloscopes enable parametric tests—like measuring rise and fall times, propagation delay, and other critical parameters—that ensure components and systems meet specified performance standards. Flying probes equipped with oscilloscope capabilities can validate these parameters at different points in the circuit.

Automation and Efficiency: Automated oscilloscope probing integrates waveform analysis directly into the testing process, minimizing manual measurements. This streamlines testing for complex circuits, reduces human error, and ensures repeatability, ultimately speeding up the entire production and QA cycle.

The FLS980Dxi, equipped with the new oscilloscope probe module, can measure a wide range of signals, making it perfect for testing complex PCBAs like motherboards. Whether you’re working on complex PCBAs, high-speed digital systems, or engaging in reverse engineering, the oscilloscope probe provides the accuracy and reliability you need, while significantly reducing test time and eliminating the need for manual probing.
